Moodle-Simple. Synchronous proctoring.

In this article, we will tell you how to prepare for the test. There will be a lot of information, get ready for the journey.

Synchronous proctoring is a mode in which a proctor and artificial intelligence will watch as a student takes his\her exam. They will work together and flag violations. The video recorded after the end of testing can be viewed by the test organizers.Important! The rules are set by the educational institution, they need to be clarified in advance.


Checklist before testing

Note! If you plan to take the test on Mac OS, change the security settings in the operating system according to the instructions.

Authorization in Moodle

Log in to the personal account of the site where the test will take place:


If an entry in the calendar has already been made, or an entry is not required, then go to the "Start testing" section. If you need an entry in the calendar, and the entry has not been made, you need to log in to the calendar and sign up for an empty slot according to the instructions below

Calendar Slot Entry

1. Select a course and click on the required test:



2. In the window that opens, click Start Attempt:

  • Click Find Exam and sign up:

  • Find the exam you need and click the "Select time" button

  • Select the desired slot and click on it.


  • In the window that appears, click on the "Sign up" button.

  • After successful entry, the slot will turn green. The scheduled exam will appear in the side menu.

  • If you want to cancel the recording, click on the "Cancel entry" icon.

Note! Cancellation of the appointment is available no later than 24 hours before the start of the exam.

Start of testing

  • Choose the right course and start the test at the appointed time:





    2. In the window that opens, click Test Attempt:

    3. Read the order of passing the test and click Continue:





    Checking the equipment

    • In the pop-up window, allow access to the camera and microphone:
    • In the pop-up window requesting access to the desktop, click on the desktop image and then on the "Share" button:

    • Wait for the end of the hardware check:

    Identification of the person

    • Take a photo on demand on the screen.
    • After refreshing the page, click on the "Submit" button.
    Important! The request for a photo can be anything - a photo of a person or a document. Pay attention to the inscription on the screen.

    Showing the desktop

    Take a webcam or laptop in your hands and demonstrate the desktop surface:
    • Carefully read the exam rules before proceeding with it:


    • Allow access to view text and images on the clipboard:

    During testing

    • To expand the Examus dashboard, click on the chat icon:
    • You can move the panel by holding down the dot icon with the left mouse button:
    To attach an attachment, click on the paperclip icon.
    • The exam rules are displayed above the chat feed. Prohibited options are indicated in gray, and allowed options are indicated in green. Hover your mouse over the rule icon to see the description.
    • Using the chat on the right side of the screen, you can chat with the proctor throughout the exam.
    • In the chat, the projector can send messages and warnings that will be displayed in the chat, and will also appear in a pop-up message in the lower right corner of the screen:
    • It is necessary to be in the frame during the entire exam:
    • In the test window, click the "Start testing" button and get to work.
    • Be sure to pay attention to the timer that displays the time remaining until the end of the exam:

Completion

If you are confident in your answers and are ready to submit them for verification, click

"Finish the attempt"

Note: The name, position, and appearance of the test completion button may vary from system to system.

After you have clicked Finish trying, the following image may appear:


In the lower right corner of the screen, you can see a message and the progress of uploading video files to the server.


You need to wait until all the files are downloaded and then you can close the browser window or tab.
